Baby Jake Update

Well I finally have the Schrock Family website restored to it’s original form! Jake is doing very well. He’s reaching out for things and flipping over these days. He spent the afternoon with Olivia and Grandma and was talking Grandpa’s ear off yesterday. He’s up to 11 pounds now! We’re getting ready for his baptism this weekend and a trip to Illinois the week after next. I can’t wait for the whole family to meet him! Well I’ll hopefully get some pictures uploaded today (if Jake cooperates!) Love to everyone!

A new beginning.

Okay so I’ve been a very bad blogger. I haven’t written anything in a month, but with very good reason! I’m a mommy! 6 days after our first contact with Alexis we recieved a call from the agency that she was in labor. We threw everything in the suitcase and rushed to Hastings. 21 hours later our beautiful son, Jacob Kent Schrock was born. August 2, 2006 at 3:14 PM, 8 lbs. 10 oz. 20.5 in.

Alexis is wonderful and we were able to be there for Jacob’s delivery and Thor was even able to cut the cord! We had three great days at the hospital to get to know Jake’s birthmom. Those are three days that we will share with our son as he grows so that he always know how much his birthmom loves him, how hard it was for her to place him with us, and how he is our miracle. It seems like just yesterday that Thor and I were nervously waiting in our Holiday Inn suite, wondering if we would take him home, and driving ever so cautiously home still not believing that we were taking our son home, that we were allowed to take him home. All that said our sweet baby Jake is sleeping peacefully in his moses basket next to me, 37 days old.

That day in August changed our lives, one phone call, and countless nights working on our own website (www.nebraskaopenadoption.com) finally paid off. We are a family. So from here on out you’ll find posts about our beautiful new son!
