I did a bad bad thing. No blogging for two whole weeks??? To make it up to you I’m kicking off a month of my “Dirty Tricks to Keep your Home Clean*” Before I kick off my New Year series on organizing, cleaning, and staying sane, I thought I’d share a photastic entry with you. Yes, I know photastic is a made up word…i dun it myself just now.

Two years ago for Christmas Techie gave me an iPod with the phrase “This is the year we start our family” engraved on the back. Some 20 days earlier we’d completed our home study and after three years of trying to get pregnant and one miscarriage we were hopeful about adoption. 7 months and one week later L gave birth to our beautiful son and we became parents.
While having things injected or inserted on a regular basis or enduring the adoption wait doesn’t sound particularly appealing we’re ready to try for #2 and it seems almost everyone has an opinion on the subject. We’ve heard it all from friends, family, coworkers, and even perfect strangers.

My life: is full of unexpected bliss
The last week was a nightmare. I was in and out of the hospital for “heartburn” which turned out to be my gallbladder acting up. I’m going “low-fat” in hopes of avoiding surgery.
I was supposed to sing “Amazing Grace” as per my Grandpa’s request but I couldn’t drag my sick ass out of bed and all the way to Illinois. I missed the funeral and I’m crushed.
I needed to grieve with my family and I’m still devastated. Instead they called and told me how nice the funeral was…it just keeps getting worse. I had hoped he would hold my little one in his arms before he died. I look through old pictures and I miss him.
