I’m not a slacker… it’s cold.

Please don’t take my lack-of-blogupdatedness to mean that i don’t love my son or have all sorts of little tibits to share. It’s been busy and cold. Where are they pictures you’re wondering? Isn’t she a photographer? Yes and they’re coming. It’s been cold, did I say that already? Really blizzardy and since I live in the batcave here it’s impossible to get good shots in the warmth of the living room especially when it’s all cloudy. The front porch turned studio is an absolute mess of renovation, snow, mud, and my crap all over out there. But i’m itching for a few warm days so i can finish up the studio and drag my son’s naked butt out there for some new baby pics. Don’t worry i’ve got clothes for the kid too, in fact i just bought an adorable hat that i want to put on him for Easter pictures, but it had better get warm quick because his little head is growing!

Seriously last week Jake’s hair was looking kind of long but his head grew into his hair. In fact the famed blue stocking cap is now too small and i’m completely distraught at the idea that i’m going to have to pack it away. Jake’s making tons of progress in the last week. Apparently the cold has put him in hibernation mode because all the sudden he’s eating twice as much solid food as before. He was really getting frustrated with not being able to crawl forward so we think he’s decided to just skip it and walk. I’ve seen him pull himself up from a sitting to standing position on everything short of the cat this week. He can sit up, get into a crawl position, sit back down all on his own. I’m amazed and terrified of how he’ll be getting into soon. He’s still blabbering on with Mama and Dada and he’s now shaking his head “no” on command which makes me super happy. There’s nothing better about having a baby than when they learn to do cute things that you can show off to the world! Okay well enough rambling. Our lawyer files for finalization this week. There are just no words for us to use to convey how much Jake has changed our life…how sweet and happy he is…how proud we are to be his mom and dad. I love my little chibster. He’s the best!

PS. Since Dr. Yogi Bear’s tests were a very expensive waste of time, i think our GP is going to agree with Dr. Mom’s diagnosis…hypoglycemia. Seems kinda silly but it’s an expressway to type II diabetes, so we’ve changed what we eat, how i cook it, and when we eat it. OMG i may be skinny again someday.
