What’s a girl gotta do to get knocked up? Oh that’s right…become a man! I’ve been suffering from an acute case of baby fever recently. Last week, I spent a good half an hour convincing myself not to buy a beautiful new crib set from the Pottery Barn Kids catalog…after all I cannot conceive…I have mean eggs, or hateful ovaries, or ungrateful hormones or something of a nasty undiagnosable condition. You see, it was always our plan, that by the time our son reached two we would be on our way to having a second child. It has always been our desire, and his birth mother’s for that matter, that our son grow up with siblings. Since my fever came on, questions have filled the high heels household: Attempt more ART or adopt again? Can we afford this? Can we afford that? We already have one amazing kid do we even want to deal with this sucky process again? Then I find articles like this one tonight and I think Will everyone else in the universe be pregnant before I am? It horrifies me that someone can spend years taking drugs to force their body to do something against it’s very nature and then suddenly stop and be rewarded with a “healthy pregnancy”. I’m sorry but and infertile girl’s gotta wonder, is there no justice in the universe?
